In a dark and ancient library, a geometry book lies open on a large table. On one of its pages is an exercise consisting of four geometric points, a, b, c, and d, which must be joined by a line of ink. On that same table, a fountain pen sleeps and snores until a thunderclap wakes it.
Once awake, the pen drinks all its ink, jumps onto the book, and lands right on the letter "a", covering it in a large ink stain. Then, as expected, it moves to "b", to "c", but when it tries its final stroke, "d" moves away in terror. The pen tries again, but "d" dodges it, and so begins a relentless chase: "d" runs for its life.
Through paragraphs, leaping over vowels and falling through passageways made of words, "d" manages to escape its pursuer, but only for a short time. In the corner of the book, "d" finds itself cornered and cannot avoid being wrapped in a large ink stain.
However, that stain becomes a drop that falls onto another book resting just below them, covering the letter "D" of its title: Moby Dick. At that moment the story changes, when "D" comes back to life transformed into a great ink monster with only one thought in its head: revenge.
